Cory Crapser and the Crapser Racing team got their feet wet with the USMTS this past weekend as the series kicked off the RealTruck.com Northern Region this past weekend with a pair of races May 12-13 at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn., and I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn.
On Thursday in Ogilvie, things got off to a rough start with an eighth-place finish in the heat race, followed by a DNF in the "B" Main.
Things turned around somewhat on Friday, however, with a run from fourth to sixth in his heat and then a third-place finish in the "B" Main to lock in a spot for the 42-lap "A" Main. With 50 drives on hand, Cory started 18th and moved up to 16th by race's end.
Saturday's scheduled event at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minn., washed out. For complete story and results check out www.usmts.com.
This coming week the team takes on three shows in Wisconsin and Iowa. Friday, May 20, the #07 MBCustoms machine will be at the Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis., and then Saturday it's back to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., where Cory has two wins on the season already. The weekend wraps up on Sunday, May 22, for the season opener at the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa.
